Do you still receive such mails?

Do you still receive such crap? Well I received this a while ago. Seriously, I just cant stop laughing on the amount of forwards this mail has received. Huge list that stretches it self all the way down.  This are called urban myths. Just like the one's we get. Forward, forward, forward and forward. Sometimes people do get blindfolded with all this silly hoax going around. If you lived in Malaysia, recently about 2 months back, there was this hilarious hoax claiming that a mobile tower would be generating some huge amount of radiation and would hit all phones at 10.p.m above. And therefore do not on your phone from 10 p.m onwards.  Such messages were forwarded on SMS and the best part, it was so convincing, many people fell for it. From switching off phone, I was monitoring blogs that night. I could see some hilarious same messages in various formats that were published by fellow bloggers. Thanks to Google blog search though. Coming back to the email above, which are known as urban myths & legends. If you ever received such, I would suggest you to pay a visit to Snopes.com. A place I used to visit some time back to check on such emails. And guess what, the AOL/Microsoft tracking and payment issue is listed under the top 25 urban myths. If you ever stumbled across a new myth, feel free to register them at Snopes. By the way, the AOL/Microsoft myth started way back in 2004(record history on Snopes).

Basics That Improves Productivity

Regularly, we sometime feel that we are procrastinating a little and being less productive. We procrastinate due to our physical and mental slowdown. I did some test on my self that most of us often tend to skip due to the fast world that we are in today. It did actually improve my productivity and thinking abilities.  Firstly, enough sleep. We tend to loose sleep as we continue working throughout the day and even we burn the mid night oil. Scientific study says that a human body needs at least 8 hours of sleep. Well that for me has not been working well. I feel slow if I slept for 8 hours or more. 6 hours maximum does work the best for me. And the other bright side of this is, I theoretically gain 2 more hours extra. So I organized a bit in advanced rather then my regular schedule and I gained some extra productivity from there.  Waking up is normally one's most hated thing. We wish we could just roll even more into the blanket. And throughout the day, most people do feel sleepy. Well a simple solution to this would be exercise. You don't have to push your self to the extreme and ending up even more tired. A simple walk or jog for 15 to 20 minitues is good enough. And trust me, I felt fresh and and clear. I could think 50% times quicker and even I could skim through pages quicker and understood it even better. This last throughout the day as well. Im amazed on how our body tunes its self.  Cutting down on watching TV did help. What I did was actually cutting all those time taken to wait and watch the stuff you want on TV by just heading over to youtube and watching it. There's even sites as Hulu and so. Miro & iTunes played a big role as well. I reduced the amount of crap watched on TV and by subscribing to inspiring talks such as TED's increased my sense of creativity. It helped me to build constant brainstorming. I even remember Chris Brogan saying in his very recent post, that he developed skills that allowed him to do one thing and think of another at a time. That does not mean that you have to cut down on your entertainment. Set times and principles. Record your TV. Watch the necessary. I do even love cartoons such as Sponge Bob to say. So I either watch it online or Record the episodes. Hooking up your cable to your system is even better as you save time by simply having fast access to it.   Take a break. Seriously, you have to have regular breaks in-between your work. Once every hour, get off your seat and stretch. Have a walk. This improves your blood circulations. Hence its distributes more oxygen around your body and you would feel less sleepy and eventually more productive. Well this are some immediate tips that you should take into consideration if you are avoiding it. I personally been experimenting with various ways. This were the basics and I was amazed it played a vital role in productivity. What's your basics tip?

Moderating Comments Necessary?

The internet is way open that encourages various responds from people all over the world. But to everything there is a limit. Why limits? It's simply because we want to grow a healthy community. One that helps and not leave ridiculous statements in this open space. It's all about a community. Its a soul to any type of civilization. May it be real or virtual, it does not matter.  Sometimes unmoderated, things may go wild. May it be technology, productivity or politics. Over here at Saranx.com, I certainly do enforce strict moderation as to ensure that every commenter in this blog has a responsibility to this community.  Let's look in depth on why such moderations are needed in communities such as saranx.com.
  • Heathy Community - Moderation helps a community to be more productive and heathy in sense of clean and with no vulgarism involved. Communities are often exposed to the young and therefore it's one responsibility to encourage healthy habits to one rather than rage.
  • Maintaining Friendliness - It's highly important that friendliness is taken into consideration when growing a knowledgeable community. This encourages everyone to stay on at a respected community. People with clear & clean mind. Souls with sincerity that throws wisdom in.
  • Encourages Help - A clean and respected community leads to a more sincere one. Therefore, this would encourage one to help another in a community. To share what is known and not to fake it out.
Once, there is a common mindset evolved in a community, moderation would then not be necessary. The community has to be inclined with the style and flow of a creator. And when that is accomplished, everything shall be left to the hands of the community and let them to decide if a particular comment should be published or not.

Best Situations To Write Content

Over the years, I have explored various techniques and situations to find the best way for me to be more productive. Here are some examples for you to use when testing out your best times. I would rate it as the best three things to consider when focusing on productive content.  Time - Its always a known factor for any work. Best times I would suggest would be when there is no much light shining from the sky and then again it varies for other people. On a personal feel, Its always at past midnight that worked best for me. That's about 1 a.m and above.  Mood - Majority people have to be happy to write happy things. Well in other words great content. For others, its more productive for them when they are angry or irritated. For me I can never write or think about anything when I'm in a moody period. Best way to avoid such is to think positive at all times and happiness would fine it's way to you. Environment - Always find the best place to sit. Make sure you feel comfortable. Are you a noise fan or not? What's your preferred lighting? What's your preferred temperature. I always love my place to be chilly and cool. My lighting should be too dark and not too bright either. It's someone in between perfect. I need always a working desk for a more productivity feel. I sleep off on bed's.  On a further note, I do believe that this techniques is not only applicable to content writing or content development but it also works in many other fields. Most of them would be on freelancing and working from home. So what's your time, mood and environment ? If you haven't, start finding out now. (Image courtesy of ToniVC)

Learn From Gold Kartz

Simply Amazing. The first punjabi R&B album in Malaysia proves it's creativity. My first impressions after acquiring a CD of this album, I was astonished by the beautiful music that simply makes you to sit back and relax. This is what we call songs ! Pure coolness. One notable track would be the second track on the CD that goes like "Dumukayne". It's gone up on my iTunes rating list over the constant season playback after the rip. I seriously believe Mannin Mainthargal (Tamil) producers should learn from this guys. As in get inspired by them. At times our guys when they are doing fast rap or slow rap, they tend to get over exited and kind of always going out tune. Its sounds just like when someone tries to speak fast. That's not the way. You got to sync with the rhyme and tune. That's what basically producers should learn from this guys. At the same time, I kind of see of this new trend going around that every now and then you have a Hip-Hop/ Rap group coming up. Most of the time to be honest it sucks. My advice would be explore more towards RnB and Blues. Why not some new Justin Timberlake & Timbaland of tamil land ? In this sense, I'm proud of the guy with the same name, Saran. His really gone all out with his Paarvai. I would like to rate it as the best Mannin Mainthargal song ever produced. There should be a shift of genre. People should have the choice to listen when its music, not just stuffing them with just "rap rap rap rap". Not everyone likes rap. So how could you gain those people's support and allow your sales to grow ? On a personal note, I do love plain world music with some fusion in it. And I'm great fan of Timberlake and Timbaland. Im not pointing out my favorites here but instead I'm trying to say that there are more people who have the same taste as I do. So we vary. Out of 100%, only 35% would like rap. The rest would want some variety. So all you have to do is to start exploring into various music. U can mix in rap here and there. That's not a problem but just don't over do it. Hope this advice counts. Need more personal advise for your music or a critic review?, Contact me

Google's Opportunities in Malaysia

Its a official and known fact that Google is heading towards Malaysia, sometime end of this year. I was just wondering on the opportunities that Google has in Malaysia.  I believe Google is going to have a hard time getting used to the Malaysian style. With bad technology infrastructures (not all), Google is for sure going for a ride. Malaysia is one of the countries that provides its internets users with bad ISP services. Having less than 6 ISP companies and monopolized companies such as TMnet, has failed to provide its users the real bandwidth. TMnet that has the most number of users due to its so call cheap(crap) prices. With connections that claims to be broadband, which can't even play a Youtube video without buffering. With such slow services, many web 2.0 or social media services are having problems to venture into the country and even are killing great startups ideas in the country it self.  So, Google who is known for its data centers and hubs are certainly not going to look into the Malaysian public market. Its just going to sit comfortably as one of their regular hub and operating centers in Cyberjaya with a MSC status. It obviously with slow broadband growth, they can't do much. This would not bring any other benefits to the local public besides job opportunities as claimed by media representatives. Most to most, there might be a PIKOM fair with Google as a platinum sponsor.  With lack of service provides, the broadband revolution in Malaysia is not going to be in pace with the growth of technology overall. Even Malaysia's neighbor country, Indonesia has more than 150 ISP's. Maybe, with Google's presence, the local ISP's might take an initiative to move forward?

Earth Day

The Green Day is back ! Live with 5 simple things that you should do or start today. Any one would do.
  • Be green, See Green, Eat Green, Think Green, Love Green ! Still in the old fashion papers and faxes ? Its time to go paperless/wireless and save some trees. Stop using materials that are made out of wood. Even things such as banners, flyers etc. Move to the Internet and grow online marketing.
  • Recycle. Remember the three bins with three different colours? Use them wisely. Separate plastics, papers, cans and dispose them in a right way.
  • Use a green bag. Cut the usage of plastics. Remember those green shopping bags you saw on Oprah? Get them and bring your own bags while shopping for groceries.
  • Stop the CFC. Are you an underground street graffiti person ? Get alternatives for your spray cans. Art is great but let's not harm the environment by your talents.
  • Move to Hydrogen Powered (Hybrid) Vehicles. If you could afford it.. I will get one when its less expensive! Reduce the usage of Petroleum. Lets save some for spare as its reaching extinctions. This would reduce Carbon emissions and theoretically reduce global warming. Lets have a cooler place to live in.

Mahatma Gandhi The Great !!

This are some quotes by the one and only Mahatma Gandi that I admire... To me its something special.. Living like as said in the quotes indeed makes you a complete person !!!

..You must be the change you want to see in the world...

You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty...

Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will....

In the attitude of silence the soul finds the path in a clearer light, and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself into crystal clearness. Our life is a long and arduous quest after Truth....

Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed. Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well....

Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.

- Mahatma Gandhi
